Wir laden herzlich ein, einen Blick auf unser gegenwärtiges, kürzlich abgeschlossenes und in unmittelbarer Zukunft liegendes Tun zu werfen.
Gegenwärtig gibt es noch bis einschließlich 07.11.2021 unseren Beitrag zur Gruppenausstellung „WorkUpsideDown“ zu sehen. Hatten wir dabei zum einen das Vergnügen gemeinsam mit dem Cluj Cultural Centre die künstlerische Ausrichtung dieser Ausstellung mitzugestalten, freuen wir uns zum anderen eine erste „Verzimmerung“ unserer Auseinandersetzung mit „Arbeit & Zukunft“ zur Schau stellen.
Unser Beitrag „Dr. Sleeplove or: How we learned to love sleep“ konzentriert sich auf die Entkoppelung von Leistung und Einkommen und bereichert die fiktive Küstenstadt „Turnton2047“ sowohl inhaltlich als eben auch um eine räumlich erfahrbare Komponente: nämlich dem Historischen Museum Turnton. Aufbereitet mit Artefakten und Zeittafeln lässt sich nachvollziehen, wie sich eine Zukunft, in der Schlaf, Ruhe und Müssiggang samt reduziertem Produzieren und Konsumieren große Bedeutung erlangt haben wird, durchsetzen konnte. Die im Anschluss zur Ausstellungseröffnung erfolgte Workshop Serie ReImagining Work – ebenfalls in Kooperation mit dem Cluj Cultural Centre erfährt just in diesen Tagen eine detaillierte Aufarbeitung. Bereits zu sehen sind Bildersammlungen zu den bearbeiteten Themenfeldern: Culturepreneurs, Work4.0, Informal Work, als auch Gedanken über das gemeinsame Träumen mit den in Cluj lebenden Roma-Communities.
Weiter geht es nun in wenigen Tagen mit dem TRANSFORM Symposium. In welchem der Frage nach der Zukunft von Universitäten, samt akademischer Welt für Kunstschaffende, Forscher*innen und ihre Mitarbeiter*innen nachgegangen wird.
In einem dreitägigem Symposium werden die sogenannten „21st century skills“, wie Kreativität, Innovationskraft und „outside-the-box“- Denken genauer untersucht um zu ergründen, wie zukünftig interuniversitäre, fächer-übergreifende und technologiegestützte Lehrformen gestaltet werden können und sollen.

Transform Symposium Wien - Die Kunst der Transformation

Dazwischen, ja, da durften wir zum Beispiel eine wirklich „abgenutzte“ Speisekarte aus der Zukunft finden… Die Medusabar als Teil von RISE.Turnton 2047 scheint gut besucht gewesen zu sein. Hier ein kurzer Tagebucheintrag „Spuren“ der sich beim Publikum des diesjährigen Höhenrausches bedankt.
Ebenfalls dazwischen haben wir uns nochmal über den Begriff Seefrauenknoten gefreut – so verwendet bei der vom Forum Umweltbildung veranstalteten BNE – Sommerakademie.
Zu guter letzt noch einmal zurück zu einem „30mm Durchmesser Detail“ der eingangs erwähnten Ausstellung „Dr. Sleeplove or: how we learned to love sleep: einem Artefakt aus dem Jahr 2045 über welches wir uns ganz besonders freuen: Der SleepCoin.
In diesem Sinne: schlaft ausreichend, bleibt gesund, menschlich und schert euch um andere – auch über Landes- und Außengrenzen hinweg!

Alle hier erwähnten Aktivitäten nähren Curiouser and Curiouser, cried Alice: Rebuilding Janus from Cassandra and Pollyanna (CCA) – ein kunstbasiertes Forschungsprojekt des Instituts Design Investigations an der Universität für Angewandte Kunst Wien und Time’s Up. CCA wird vom Programm zur Entwicklung und Erschließung der Künste (PEEK) des Austrian Science Fund (FWF): AR561 unterstützt.

We are pleased to invite you to take a look at our current, recently completed and in the anticipated activities.
Currently, our contribution to the group exhibition “WorkUpsideDown” can be seen until 07. November 2021. On the one hand, we had the pleasure of co-designing the artistic direction of this exhibition together with the Cluj Cultural Centre, and on the other hand, we are pleased to present a first “Verzimmerung” (“Roomification”) of our investigations into the topic of “Work & Future”.
Our contribution “Dr. Sleeplove or: How we learned to love sleep” focuses on the decoupling of performance and income and enriches our narration around the fictitious coastal town “Turnton2047”. It does this both in terms of content as well as a spatially experiential component, the Turnton Historical Museum. Artifacts and a time line invite the audience to explore how a future in which sleep, rest and idleness together with reduced producing and consuming will have gained great importance could prevail.

Following the opening of the exhibition, the workshop series ReImagining Work – also in cooperation with the Cluj Cultural Centre – is currently undergoing a detailed appraisal. Already on display are collections of images from the workshops: Culturepreneurs, Work4.0, Informal Work, as well as thoughts about dreaming together with Roma communities living in Cluj.
In a few days, we will continue to the TRANSFORM Symposium. Here the question of the future of universities, including the academic world for artists, researchers and their employees, will be explored.
In the three-day symposium, the so-called “21st century skills” such as creativity, innovative strength and “outside-the-box” thinking will be examined more closely in order to find out how inter-university, interdisciplinary and technology-supported forms of teaching can and should be designed in the future.

In between, well, there we were allowed to find, for example, a really “worn” menu from the future… The Medusabar as part of RISE.Turnton 2047 seems to have been well attended. Here is a short diary entry “traces” thanking the audience of this year’s Höhenrausch.
Also in between we were pleased again about the term „Seefrauenknoten“ (sea woman knot) – so used at the BNE – summer academy organized by the Forum Umweltbildung.
Last but not least, let’s go back to a “30mm diameter detail” of the exhibition “Dr. Sleeplove or: how we learned to love sleep” mentioned at the beginning: an artifact from the year 2045 which we are especially happy about: The SleepCoin.
In this sense: get yourself some sleep, stay healthy, human and care about others – even across national and international borders!
